Dialectic is a full-service mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering design and consulting firm based in Kansas City, Missouri. We deliver inventive, flexible and sustainable MEP designs for retail, education, restaurant, commercial and entertainment spaces, among others. Our designs integrate technologies into a space seamlessly and invisibly. Our work exceeds expectations and paves the way for memorable experiences. Our team, ranked as one of Kansas City’s most diverse engineering firms, is as talented as they are diverse and works hard to exceed our clients’ expectations.

Our leadership team – Greg Trees, CEO, Joe Hillebrenner, COO and Marcus Howell, CBO – is continuing the tradition Chris Larson began more than 30 years ago when he founded our firm – challenging our industry with inventive designs through collaboration, exceptional quality and a commitment to sustainability. While our attention is on the creative design aspects of MEP engineering, we also efficiently manage budgets, timelines, permits and codes.

Dialectic can work wherever you need us. We’re licensed in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Working in diverse locations led us to build an exclusive database of local codes. With our constant updates, we know specific codes for each locale. We share this knowledge with owners, architects and other project partners to ensure better project control, fewer surprises and diminished cost overruns.

Collaboration is essential to Dialectic – and how we operate. Since 2016, we’ve been a 100% Employee Owned Company with an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan/Retirement Plan).
