Dialectic Engineering Announces New Leadership
Kansas City, Missouri – Dialectic Engineering is proud to announce its new leadership team, comprising three company veterans, amid years of steady growth:
Greg Trees has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer. A seasoned executive experienced in finance, operations, IT, HR and sales, Greg joined the team in 2015 and previously served as Chief Financial Officer. As CEO, Greg will continue to add value to the firm’s successful employee ownership model.
Joe Hillebrenner has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, where he’ll oversee day-to-day operations. Joe joined Dialectic in 2014 and previously served as Vice President of Project Management. He brings a holistic approach to the position with exceptional results in commercial, retail, restaurant, health care and hospitality design projects.
Marcus Howell was promoted to Chief Business Officer from Vice President of Business Development. Marcus joined Dialectic in 2016, bringing with him expertise in wastewater plants, industrial, medical, biomedical, alternative fuels and energy, and heavy commercial. He was recently appointed to the firm’s board of directors.
This announcement coincides with firm founder Chris Larson’s announcement to retire from the company after 31 years of service. Larson will be reducing his involvement with the company in 2021 to serve as Chairman of the Board:
“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished: our projects that challenged industry norms, our lasting relationships, the strong internal culture we’ve built and the way we’ve redefined what it means to work with an engineering firm,” Larson said. “My decision to retire wasn’t made lightly, but it’s the right decision and the right time. I have no doubt I’m leaving the business in a position of strength and in the right hands with Greg, Joe and Marcus.”
Dialectic Engineering was founded in 1988 as Larson Binkley, a full-service MEP design and consulting firm providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering design services nationwide. In addition to its office in Kansas City, Dialectic recently opened an office in Austin, allowing the company to better service its clients in the retail, restaurant, education, entertainment and commercial spaces.
More than just another engineering firm, Dialectic is committed to delivering communication, quality and schedule to each of its clients, ensuring all projects are completed properly and in a timely manner. All three members of the firm’s new leadership team expressed their excitement to build upon Dialectic’s “killer culture” and tradition of knocking it out of the park – every time – in this next chapter:
“I’m honored and excited to serve Dialectic’s clients, project partners and employee owners, continuing Founder Chris Larson’s legacy. Together with Joe, Marcus and our incredible team, we’re ditching the typical engineering firm playbook and challenging industry norms,” Trees said.
