Kansas City, Missouri – Dialectic Engineering is celebrating its employee ownership model (ESOP) even more so than usual, lately.
Following a year known widely as the Great Resignation, the Kansas City-based MEP firm not only maintained headcount, but witnessed 26% revenue growth and continued pushing forward into other verticals and markets — including its ever-growing Texas footprint and new offerings for facilities serviced, such as convenience stores, assisted living and religious facilities. The new additions build on Dialectic’s extant service list of retail, restaurants, hospitality, medical, mixed-use, multifamily, grocery, education, distribution and logistics centers, and more.
2021 brought other big moves for Dialectic, such as the doubling of its headquarters space in the Zahner Building of the Crossroads Arts District. The firm also introduced a strategic leadership program for its younger employees and began a relationship with MINDDRIVE, which will mentor students in engineering. Dialectic was additionally ranked as the third-most diverse engineering firm in Kansas City by the Kansas City Business Journal.
The steady growth trajectory throughout 2021, including in employee retention, is owed to Dialectic’s team culture fostered by an employee ownership structure, according to CEO Greg Trees.
“One of the benefits of being an ESOP is that everyone within the company reaps the rewards of the firm’s growth and success,” Trees said. “We absolutely owe Dialectic’s ongoing success and the quality of service we’re known for to the individuals that have made our company culture what it is.”
